Political Factors of Different Countries’ Media Coverage in the American Press

This paper presents the results of the analysis of countries’ media coverage in the American press from 2012 to 2017. The focus of the study lies within political factors influencing counties’ mention rotation in American press agenda. Particular attention is paid to the Agenda-Setting Theory and to the intermedia agenda-setting effects. Based on a sample of publications of fourteen American press editions, this paper examines counties’ media coverage using methods of quantitative analysis. In order to reflect the significance of political factors that might influence the coverage, this research focuses on the regression models.
