Creation of Metal Trade Electronic Portal in Russia

The project relates to the field of electronic Commerce. The Russian market of producers and consumers of black metal has been chosen as the niche for project application in. Due to the wide geography and large number of consumers of the metal the largest Russian manufacturers "acquire" a network intermediaries in selling their products and bringing it to the end user. This system often has a negative impact on quality, delivery time and leads to unnecessary increased production costs of final products. Moreover, cash flows deflected not in the direction of development of the Russian economy, but to maintain mediation services that are not always professional level of the companies, including one-day firms. The ultimate goal of this project is to offer a description of a model of the online B2B portal that displays real-time quotes and range of producers and opens the access to consumers to place orders without intermediaries. To achieve the goal tasks are: 1) to analyze the current state of metal market in Russia. 2) to identify the main development prospects in the field of steel trading and electronic Commerce. 3) to consider the existing workflow between the suppliers and buyers of metal. 4) to propose and describe a model of a marketplace for the sale of metal. Results: First, the Russian steel market is quite favorable for the development. There are prerequisites for the use of information technology. Secondly, the example of the company "League S" was considered the current scheme of sales of products by metal products, which is quite bulky and is accompanied by high transaction costs. Third, a model of the marketplace for the sale of rolled metal in Russia was proposed. The basic requirements and the functionality of the portal were set. Marketing plan and economic efficiency indicators allow to assess the benefits of this project.
