Meanings of Femininity in the Context of Transformation of the Gender Order

This paper analyzes the concept of femininity in the context of different gender contracts in contemporary young couples. in this study it is assumed that femininity is a socially constructed concept that is not confined to a certain set of characteristics, but has a complex structure. With the help of qualitative methodology there were examined various types of gender contracts, and the meanings of femininity and its formation mechanisms were revealed in each of the cases. The results can give a direction for further studies of the sphere of gender relations and femininity as it provides the basis for a more integrated approach to the aforementioned concepts.
