The Family Factor in the Image of Political Leaders in a Democratic and Authoritarian Regimes: Analysis of Social Network Facebook
In this study, the family factor is seen as a component of the informal part of the image of a politician. The paper analyzes the accounts of the heads of state of democratic and authoritarian regimes in the social network Facebook. In the framework of the study, we found out whether politicians use this platform during their election campaign, and whether the image of the family is used. In addition, the study examined the basic concepts of the theory of image, identified the most characteristic features in the formation of images, both for democratic and authoritarian leaders. Within the framework of the empirical part, the profiles of the heads of state of the two political regimes were analyzed in accordance with the criteria put forward by us, and a comparative analysis of the data was carried out. We came to the conclusion that the political leaders of different regimes use the Facebook platform equally. The family factor in the profiles of democratic leaders is used more often than in the profiles of authoritarian leaders.
