The purpose of this study is to determine the specifics of designing gender stereotypes in the narrative of Soviet teenage science fiction films of the 1970s and 1980s. Within the framework of the work, the peculiarities of gender stereotypes in the USSR in the 1970s and 1980s were investigated, and the possibilities for translating gender stereotypes in culture were analyzed. The analysis used semiotic, in particular, the approach of Vladimir Propp. The empirical material was made by science fiction films for teenagers "The Great Space Journey", "Moscow-Cassiopeia", "The Children in the Universe", "The Adventures of Electronics", "Guest from the Future", "Lilac Balloon", which were divided into two categories: Films about space travel and films about adventures on the Earth. Based on the results of the work, conclusions were drawn that between men and women equality in the professional sphere is represented, but men are preferred as managers, and there is a certain list of professions in which a woman can develop.
