Design of Information System for Workstation Configuration Management

This paper is a description of design of information system for workstation configuration management. The design process consists of three steps: world practices analysis, workstation configuration management process analysis, and information system design. World practices analysis step includes configuration management world practices analysis (ITIL v3 and SWEBOK v3 are considered) and modern configuration management systems analysis (Otter, Naumen, and ITSM 365 are considered). The result of the step is business process standard and system architecture standard identification. Workstation configuration process analysis consists of the workstation configuration domain description and AS-IS business process design. The results of the step are bottlenecks determination and functional requirements description. Information system design step includes the business process redesign with considering the business process standard, user scenarios and use-case diagrams design, and information system architecture design and description.
