Dialectal Lexemes in Ustja Basin Corpus

Student: Kalashnikova Daria

Supervisor: Nina Dobrushina

Faculty: Faculty of Humanities

Educational Programme: Fundamental and Computational Linguistics (Bachelor)

Final Grade: 8

Year of Graduation: 2017

The work is based on the Usja Basin Corpus and Ustja dialect. There are three distinguishable tasks in this work. First of all, the amount of dialectal words used by the speakers is counted and analyzed. The results are compared to the results of the other research on the corpus but with phonetic material. Next, the dictionary of uncategorized lexemes was updated with the data acquired during the field trip to Arkhangelskaya Oblast’ (April 2017). All the inaccurate meanings of the words that have no explanations in dialectal dictionaries at the moment were corrected. Lastly, the grammatical dictionary was created where paradigms of all the words in the corpus are presented.
