This work is a study of shame and its impact on the professional life of a person. In which the main goal is to study the influence of this feeling on career growth. To achieve this goal, the following research objectives were set: 1) to study and describe the role of shame in the theory and practice of psychoanalysis; 2) consider shame and sexuality in psychoanalysis, art, mythology, literature and philosophy; 3) reveal different theories and the origin of shame; 4) to analyze and describe practical cases in which the shame of clients acts as a motivator for career and professional growth; 5) on the basis of the analysis of the conducted research to present conclusions. As a result of the study, it was revealed that shame can really act as a motivator for career and professional growth. As long as this feeling is unconsciously, it controls the person, creating in his life cycles of repetition in which all the abilities and talents of the individual serve shame. Again and again, depriving a person of the opportunity to enjoy the results of his work. But if shame is understood, exposed, and attempts are made to get out of the cycle of repetition, then the person acquires the ability to further develop his "I" and the true appropriation of his own achievements. The practical significance of the research is that the connection between the experience of shame and its various intensities with the desire of a person to achieve development and influence in the professional environment is revealed. The scientific novelty of this research is that for the first time shame is considered as a motivator for career growth.
