China’s State Policy Towards Internationalization of Higher Education in the 21st Century
7
2017
The People’s Republic of China (hereinafter the PRC) has been practicing internationalization before the process of globalization influenced the state’s policy-making that, in the result, changed the context of higher education beginning from the twenty-first century. Western level of the development of quality and science inspired China to follow the same procedures and methodologies to achieve results of the same level by ignoring developments at home. International organizations played a role of shapers that led to the consequences without those far-reaching results the PRC expected.

To date, the attitude of China takes a new dimension to practice internationalization which is reflected in the state policy in the field of higher education. The manifestation in terms of alliances, exchanges, initiatives leads to the assumption of a leading position the country takes at the world stage.
