Research on Applicability of Subject-oriented Business Process Management to an Airline Company

This graduate work’s topic is “Research on Applicability of Subject-Oriented Business Process Management to an Airline Company". The study consists of 44 pages, including 14 pictures and 5 tables. 29 sources were used when writing the paper. Business processes of an airline company are the object of the research. Subject-oriented approach to business process management of an airline company is the subject of the study. The research is aimed at proving subject-oriented business process management for an airline company. The paper consists of introduction, three chapters and conclusion. Introduction expresses topicality of the chosen theme, introduces aim and objectives of the study, determines object and subject, states primary questions, formulates hypotheses and enumerates employed scientific methods. First chapter includes literature review, which distinguishes disadvantages of the traditional approach to business process management and concepts that are able to deal with them. In this chapter, subject-oriented approach to business process management is compared to traditional approach and alternative concepts, such as social BPM and adaptive case management. Second chapter is a practical part of the research. Analysis of the strategy and organizational structure of one of the leading Russian airline companies is conducted in this part of the work. It also includes construction of a model for one of the airline's cross-functional processes. Third chapter investigates applicability of subject-oriented approach to business process management based on constructed model of the process. Conclusion includes primary deductions and rationale of practical value of the research.
