The main objective of our research is to create the most effective concept for development and promotion of tourist areas in Russia based on the international experience abroad. The abundance of studies in the field of promotion of tourist areas overseas allows us to identify the main factors that could predict the development strategy for tourist areas in Russia. In this work, the subject of the study will be the behavior of people when choosing the prospective destination for future vacations, so we need to take into account their views, preferences and wishes related to tourist areas. Thus, the aim of our work is to find ways and methods of promoting the Russian tourist areas outside our country. Besides, one of the key tasks for us is to understand what the consumer of the service is guided by when choosing the place for future vacations. In this regard, we will analyze the market of tourism services, which are offered by travel companies abroad and will try to offer strategies for development and promotion of the just-emerging international tourism in Russia. The relevance of this topic is of no doubt. The government of the Russian Federation is aimed at promotion of Russia as a new tourist area in the world and is ready to allocate budget funds to support projects and to fund development of new tourist zones in the territory of Russia. Thus, the results of our study show the desired strategy for development and promotion of tourist destinations in Russia and how the international experience is used in development of the Russian resorts.
