In work the features of city communication in the digital environment on the example of regional platforms of Moscow on social networks are investigated. During the research it is defined whether the level of an involvement of regional inhabitants into online communication depends on what image of an area and local community is formed on digital platforms of areas.

In research work digital platforms of three areas (Maryina Roshcha, Ramenki and Troparyovo-Nikulino) on three various social networks (VKontakte, Facebook and Instagram) are analyzed. The content analysis is carried out for detection of the key characteristics of content, influencing formation of an area’s image on the Internet, and their interrelation with the level of an involvement of users. The deep interview with subscribers of the analyzed platforms proves influence of activity on perception of local community.
