The Resistance of EU’s Monetary Institutions during Current Debt Crisis

The present paper is dedicated to the study and analysis of supranational monetary institutions of EU and the policy they have been following during the continuous debt crisis started in 2010. There is made an assessment of monetary policy mechanisms during pre-crisis period and when the crisis started. Also there is perceived the measures introduced in order to overcome sovereigns’ indebtedness using the monetary policy. ECB have performed a number of thorough reforms for countries in recession in order to provide them financial assistance. The goal of the work is to analyze EU supranational monetary institutions sustainability, as well as the impact of the measures they apply on the countries’ economies and their position on the world arena.
