Nowadays a significant number of clothes brands have been prioritizing minimalism and base wardrobe. It is claimed that women have always shown needs in external representation as attractive personalities. Thus, these days there has been voiced a growing concern for redefining special requirements for clothes decorating. Couture is an important research issue of the survey. While implying premium quality and fancy decoration, couture techniques on their own cannot provide the required level of personal accentuation, since they do not fulfil a character features accentuation task. On the other hand, theatrical techniques specialize in emphasizing one’s character features. For that reason a theatrical costume is studied very thoroughly in this project. Starting point of the survey topic developing is "The Blue Bird" play written by M. Maeterlinck and produced by K. Stanislasvskiy in 1908 for Moscow Art Theatre named after A. Chekhov. The play inspired my reflections about a costume purpose and functions, which eventually created idea to transpose theatrical charm from stage to real life. Delicate childish symbolism of "The Blue Bird" interlinks with world romantic spiritualisation. The key period for my survey is the beginning of the 20th century costume fashion and "Dyagelev's Russian Ballet". On account of the survey, women fashion clothes collection has been made inspired by 20th century culture.
