This paper is devoted to the study of circumstantial constructions expressing cause-effect relations. A common feature of sentences with a cause-effect relationship is the logical interdependence of two situations, one of which (the cause) generates another (effect). To indicate cause-effect relationships in the Russian language, certain markers are used, such as conjunctions, prepositions and particles. Due to the fact that each marker has a certain semantic field and carries a certain stylistic coloring, students studying Russian as foreign language or heritage speakers can make mistakes in this area of the language. In the work, the most frequent types of errors encountered in the speech of non-standard speakers were considered, and their classification was also given.
