Guidelines Development for the Functionality Growth of the Learning Management System in an Educational Centre

The author identifies the directions of development of the functionality of the learning management system of the educational center and has developed recommendations for the development of the functionality of the system. The goal of the study is to identify the directions of functionality growth of the learning management system and to develop guidelines for the functionality growth of the learning management system in the educational center. Within the broad purpose the following targets are to be presented: modeling of education management process, developing procedure for the identification directions of functionality growth of the learning management system, creating to-be models of the organization and monitoring sub-processes of the educational process as well as the formation of functional requirements for the automation of the organization and monitoring sub-processes of the educational process, developing guidelines for the structure of the screens of one of the modules of the learning management system. During the process of achieving the goal, the activities of the educational center were described as well as its learning management system. Also, a high-level model was developed for the education management process, and the need for the developing the functionality of learning management system was determined. The as-is and to-be models of the education management process, the procedure for the identification directions of functionality growth of the learning management system, the functional requirements for automation of the organization and monitoring subprocesses of the educational process, and guidelines for the structure of the screens of one of the modules of the learning management system are the main results of the study.
