Arbitral tribunal is a non-governmental form of settlement of legal conflicts arising from the civil relations, which is recognized by the state, establishing the legal foundations of the procedure of work of the arbitral tribunal and guaranteeing the execution of its decisions. The rapid increase in the needs of the society for the alternative to governmental courts forms of dispute resolution leads to the necessity of careful consideration of the theoretical basis of the arbitration and legislation on arbitration. This research considers the main theoretical aspects of the arbitration, legal framework of arbitration in the light of the ongoing reform of the arbitration in the Russian Federation, as well as the reasons, goals and objectives of the reform. Particular attention is paid to the assessment of the reform, further possible ways of improving the legislation in this area.
