International Relations
(Bachelor’s programme)

2017
Specific features of Canada's approach to the formation of the Free Trade Area of Asia-Pacific (FTAAP) in the context of Ottawa's policy regarding the formats and initiatives of the economic regionalism of the Asia-Pacific region are examined in this paper, taking into account the nature of their current evolution. Based on the analysis of a wide range of sources and scientific papers, the answer is given to the question, why does Canada take a wait-and-see attitude towards the FTAAP, despite the obvious commercial benefits of this project for Ottawa's economic, political and reputational interests.
