ABSTRACT Diploma thesis on "Economic cooperation of Russia and China in the Energy Sector (2011-2016)". Made by 4th year student, faculty of World Economy and International Affairs, Polina Kulakova BME 132. In recent years, there is an evident growth in bilateral economic and trade relations between Russia and China. It is reflected in high rates of turnover growth, expansion of investment cooperation, intensification of inter-regional and cross-border ties, and an increasing interest in Russian and Chinese businessmen and mutual cooperation in the energy sphere has been observed. In this particular diploma work we will focus on the development of Russian-Chinese relations in the energy industry in the period from 2010 to 2016. Historical aspects of development relations between countries and the background for future partnerships not only in energy sector, but also in all economic spheres – are the foundation of this diploma. The study will employ comparative and theoretical analyses. We will take into account a wide information base, which includes domestic and foreign literature, Internet resources and statistics. More specifically, we will explore the situation in the Russian and Chinese energy sector from 2010 till 2016. As for expected outcomes, there are some prospects for collaboration in a wide range of spheres, especially in the energy sector. Therefore, this research is relevant and significant for understanding the level and efficiency of the economic relations between Russia and China.
