Employees' Quality of Work Life in Russian Business Organisations

The master thesis is devoted to studying of separate components of Quality of working life in interrelation of attitudes and behavior of employees in the context of their social, demographic and professional characteristics. The analysis of scientific literature of the subject has shown that a large variety of opinions concerning components, which are included in the concept of QWL, exists. This research is based on the Need Satisfaction approach because of possibility to combine objective and subjective measuring instruments. 210 respondents from such business fields as retail trade and light industry in Moscow, the Moscow region and other regions have taken part in questionnaire. As a result, 12 QWL indexes and 4 indexes of attitudes and behavior of employees (the Indicator of emotional burning out, the engagement Index, the Index of role and organizational citizenship behavior and the Index of loyalty of the company and intention to remain) have been built, and answers to questions have been found: estimates of what indexes the highest/low? What characteristics of workers (a sex, age, education level, a position, business field) are the most differentiating estimates? How factors of QWL are interconnected among themselves and what of them are the most significant for desirable for employer attitudes and behavior of employees in a workplace? In end, practical recommendations for increase the aspects of QWL depending on the tasks existing for management have been developed.
