This thesis is aimed at assessing the feasibility of launching a bilateral Internet lending platform. The work consists of three chapters: theoretical part, methodology, case study and results. The first part described the theoretical basis of p2p platforms, their features, advantages and disadvantages. The work also provides literature review and analysis of the world and Russian experience of peer-to-peer lending. Furthermore, we described the history of the origin of peer-to-peer platforms, factors that influence on this type of lending, as well as forecasts of the growth of the p2p lending market and its trends. In addition, we presented a table with the characteristics and key indicators of various large peer-to-peer sites in the world, such as Prosper, Lending Club, Zopa and others. In the second practical part of the study we used financial, investment and comparative analyzes to assess the feasibility of launching a peer-to-peer lending platform in Russia. The thesis was made in a case format. For financial analysis, we predicted cash flows of American peering sites, which showed positive and stable growth rates. As an investment analysis, interest rates and return on investment on the p2p platform in the US and Russia were received. This analysis showed how attractive the peer-to-peer sites are for both borrowers and investors. Further, we made a general comparative analysis of these platforms and similar services. Services of online banking, activity of microfinance organizations were considered. Comparative analysis has demonstrated the benefits of p2p lending, over other alternative financing services such as online banks or MFO services. According to the results of work, the launch of the peering platform in Russia is expedient. Keywords: peering platform, bilateral lending, Internet credit platform, p2p-model, peer-to-peer platforms.
