The aim of the study is the statistical analysis of the virtual water flows contained in cereals, which are traded between countries. Multivariate statistical methods were used to analyze panel data. In this work, we have investigated factors affecting trade in cereals: percentage of the rural population, GDP, arable land, area of irrigated land and the volume of internal renewable water resources. The study identified certain countries that mainly export and import virtual water. The first group includes USA, Australia, India, Brazil, Canada, Argentina.
