The purpose of the master's thesis is to estimate the access of the Moscow population to preschool education facilities in 2015 and in а short-term perspective, until 2020. Moscow takes the leading positions in the demographic development in Russia. Preschool has become part of the general education in 2012 when the government introduced the legal right guaranteeing each child between 3 and 7 years old a place in kindergarten. Achievement of this measure is carried out with the use of the number of documents that impose normative requirements on preschool facilities. In this paper, we describe six districts of Moscow which was built in different historical periods. The research was based on the data of municipal statistics, town planning documents and geodemographic forecast data. Considerable attention is given to demographical forecast from which has been detached geodemographic projection. Geodemographic projection of the Moscow’s districts has been identified by analysing the following trends: demographic statistics, changes in household structure, and housing development.
