Professional Becoming of Felix Platter in 1552-1557

This research reviews the formation of Felix Platter as a professional physician based on his diary, which he composed for publication in 1612. The text cited on the edition of the diary that was prepared by Valentin Lötscher in German in 1976. Also relevant to use the edition of 1892 in French by Pr. M.L. Kieffer. Three chapters dedicated to the education of Felix at the University of Montpellier in the sixteenth century are discussed in this research. In the first two chapters («The Journey from Basle to Montpellier», and «A student in Montpellier») Felix acts as the student interested in surgery and pharmacopoeia. The third chapter («Return home to Basle») narrates the story of how Felix defended scientific work in Paris and became a practicing physician.
