In this paper we consider a number of problems that have been solved in the course of the thesis: 1. Find the cause of the low resistance of standard cathode air plasma cutter pxx 4.0 company «Cemont». 2. On the basis of design staff cathode cathode ten times higher than for analogue resistance and close to the stated in the literature. 3. The effect of coating of aluminum oxide and titanium nitride on the resistance of tungsten cathodes. 4. Check the method of calculating the parameters of air plasma cutter direct action. The work consists of an introduction, general part, special part, section "Security and livelihoods" and "Management and Marketing", conclusions, list of references from 21 names. Diploma thesis is presented on 81 pages, illustrated with 16 drawings, contains 3 Tables and 2 Appendices.
