The Role of Media in the Formation of a Negative Image of Muslims, on the Example of Coverage of Terrorist Attacks in France in 2015

This study examines the specifics of the coverage of terrorist attacks by the French media. The aim of the work was to reveal the image of Muslims formed by the French media in covering terrorist acts The study was conducted on the example of terrorist attacks in France in 2015. Within the framework of this work, content analysis of print media publications were conducted, as well as a comparative analysis of French TV and radio channels. Using these methods, it was possible to identify a correlation between the ideology of publications and the specifics of coverage of terrorist attacks, the difference in delivery of material depending on the type of media, and classify the basic methods of distortion of information used by the French media.
