Research subject: small business of tourism and hospitality industry of the Crimea.

The purpose of the study is to highlight small business’s development opportunities of tourism and hospitality industry of the Crimea.

In order to achieve the purpose the following tasks have been solved:

1. Offered classification of small enterprises of the industry of tourism and hospitality.

2. Highlighted development tendencies of the industry.

3. Allocated factors promoting positions of tourist regions of the Russian Federation in the industry.

The following methods were used:

1. General-logical methods.

2. Principal component analysis.

3. Two-step cluster analysis.

First chapter specifies approaches for small business classification and analyzes development tendencies in the tourism and hospitality industry.

Second chapter is devoted to the quantitative analysis of tourist regions of the Russian Federation.

Third chapter analyzes position of small business in the Crimea in tourism and hospitality industry.

Popularity of this subject is caused by the fact that medium and small business make up 95% enterprises worldwide, and tourism according to World Trade Organization data is responsible for more than a third of world trade in services. Besides, this research is especially significant while the examined region is in the transition stage after joining Russia Federation; therefore, it requires special attention.
