Study of the 1990s in Russian historical science can be named a phenomenon: it began at the same time with the millennium. The reason is in the perception of 1990s in Russian history as a «constituent time», the period when the institutions and rules or life in the country during the next few decades were created. How this uneasy time is estimated in the historiography? In the present research, the study of the 1990s is being considered from the standpoints of the narrative philosophy. The main works related to Russia’s 1990s history were analyzed, the existing narratives were identified and characterized.
