The purpose of this paper is to assess the effectiveness of the use of project management tools in the tourism industry by the example of the proposed project for the launch of a sightseeing tour around Moscow and the Moscow river using a floating bus. The relevance of the topic is due to the growth of the tourism industry in Moscow, as well as the positive trend in the tourist's attendance of the Russian capital, which affects the attractiveness of new projects realization in the industry. This paper discussed theoretical aspects of the application of project management tools. Considering the tourism industry in question, literature sources were analyzed on the topics of the toolkit's features in implementing projects in tourism industry. In practical part, project management tools were applied in the proposed tourism industry project, then the project's attractiveness from a financial point of view was analyzed and the effectiveness of the applied tools was assessed. Based on the assessment of the effectiveness of the PM instruments, recommendations were given for project managers implementing projects in the tourism industry.
