Student: Rybalchenko Darya

Supervisor: Igor Gurovich

Faculty: Faculty of Creative Industries

Educational Programme: Design (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2017

The aim of my project was to create an exhibition of graphics based on the interpretation of weapons images and the phenomenon of war in culture. I decided to make a special emphasis in the exhibition on nuclear weapons, as the most large-scale and terrible phenomenon, which is today the pinnacle of the evolution of all other forms of weapons. I identified two types of tasks in my future work. The first group of tasks is "internal" tasks, responsible for the content of the exhibition. The main priority was to search for the concept and semantic message of the exhibition. Next, I tried to understand how this main message can be transmitted by visual images. I have searched the right graphic language, the most suitable for the objectives of the exhibition. The second type of tasks that I have identified are "external" tasks, including the communications of the exhibition. They involved the development of information and promo-carriers of the exhibition. During the graduation project, I conducted the following types of work: Search for references of various ways of organizing modern exhibitions of graphics Search for materials of military and anti-military propaganda Viewing of references in exhibition catalogs Creation of the exhibition concept Search for a graphic language for creating an exposition The results of the diploma work were: Graphic sheets - exhibition exposition Spatial solution of the exhibition (exterior) Exhibition catalog Posters of the exhibition Flyers, tickets, souvenir products
