Price Regulation of the Vital Medicines on the Russian Market

This research focuses on a number of price regulations among different countries. The present paper is dedicated to the problem of increasing expenditures on medicines that are eliminated by some measures in different countries. Hence, in this research we describe the amount of policies and their characteristics, which are relied on the pharmaceutical sector throughout the world. The aim of this paper is determined the efficiency of the public policy in the pharmaceutical sector in Russia. The hypothesis is decreasing death since 2010 is a result of the price regulation policy. Methodology of this paper is a collecting of different policies about the price regulations to determine an appropriate measure in Russia. The main factors in the formation of prices for medicines are the cost of treatment, the severity and prevalence of the disease, willingness of consumers to pay, the presence of competitors in the market, public regulation of prices for medicines and the availability of international quality standard. The paper presents possible approaches to the regulation of prices for medicines, and their effects, including international experience. The results contain a possible improvement in the Russian pharmaceutical sector. Keywords: price regulation, reimbursement, vital medicines.
