M&A International Transactions of Japanese Companies: the Case of Automobile Industry

In a volatile economic situation, when the developing countries’ companies are strengthening their positions on the international market, the policy of reducing carbon dioxide emissions is tightening, the emergence of new advanced technologies and the changing preferences of consumers in transportation occur, Japanese automotive companies have to adopt new trends actively and strengthen their positions internationally through the conduction of cross-border M&A transactions. The automobile industry is one of the key sources of income for Japan, therefore, the well-being of the country depends on implemented strategies on the international market. We identify the main directions for doing cross-border transactions involving Japanese companies analyzing the main trends in the automotive industry and in M&A market involving companies from different countries.
