Time Management in the Projects of the Metallurgical Company
Nowadays, there are a large number of methods and tools for time management in projects. At the same time, time management is one of the key areas of knowledge in project management, as it has a direct impact on other important components, such as cost and quality. The industry with a broad practice of developing vertically integrated structures is of particular attention in terms of time management. It is these companies that can accurately assess the consequences of the failure of terms not only for the cost and quality of a particular project, but also for working with some users from projects. Vertical integration is widely spread throughout the world in the metallurgical industry. The main research method is the analysis of concrete projects of modernization of production in a large metallurgical company (case-study). The purpose of the work is to develop recommendations for improving the time management system. Scientific articles of Russian and foreign authors studying project time management, a body of knowledge on project management, standards of project evaluation and scheduling were used, as information sources. In addition, research was carried out in the field of access to reports and surveys on current trends, methods and tools for managing the project's timing. Besides, the internal information of the company under investigation was examined. In the process of the study, the specifics of the timing management in terms of the metallurgical industry were highlighted, the methodologies and tools used in the metallurgical sector were studied, and the timing of their conduct in the internal projects of the company was analyzed. The analysis examined the strengths and weaknesses of the time management processes, as well as recommendations for improving them.
