The Impact of Islam on the Domestic and Foreign Policies of China

The present study examines China's modern foreign and domestic policies in the Muslim world in the context of such paradigms as theories of civilizations and theories of modernization. The aspects of the relationship between Chinese (Han) and Muslim civilizations in the international arena are analyzed, and the search for common elements of interaction inside China and outside the country is conducted. The author scrutinizes the influence of the PRC on the Muslim civilization in the framework of modernization processes that have both negative and positive effects on the sides of this interaction. Moreover, the paper investigates Russian-Chinese relations, their competition and cooperation in the Muslim world.
