The purpose of the study is the investigation and the implementation of the hyper-heuristic approach for solving multidimensional 0-1 knapsack problem. The current paper includes the key techniques of hyper-heuristic approach based on genetic algorithm that were also thoroughly analyzed and implemented during the study. The final part of the work presents the results of the experiments conducted on the data of ORLib
