Contemporary international trade coined the concepts of the multilateralising regionalism and the new regionalism according to which the trade currents primarily depend on the potential synergy and level of efficiency in cooperation rather than territorial proximity. This research is focused on estimating the potential benefits and losses, threats and opportunities arising from establishment of TTIP between the European Union and the United States, analyses data on predictions of possible TTIP influence. The paper, based on actual models developed by prominent scholars, proposes the possible outcomes of creating a free trade zone between the European Union and the United States as a step towards deepening cooperation between the trade partners. Special attention is given to sheding the light on the question if TTIP would be beneficial to its members in GDP and trade termsm and specificically agricultural industry. Various possible scenarios are discussed in order to define the differences in the models and find out the most adequate options available. The paper concludes with the statement that achieving agreement can boost mutual trade and economic growth but at first the European Union may face some temporal difficulties adapting to the new conditions. Key words: new regionalism, multilateral trade, cooperation between the EU and the US, Transatlantic Trade and Investment Agreement (TTIP).
