State Regulation of the Fishing Industry of the North-West of Russia

In this paper, a comparative analysis of the state regulation of the fishing industry of Russian Federation (on the example of the Leningrad Region) and Finland is carried out. Author through the prism of the theory of " Tragedy of the Commons," examine the current state of the fisheries complex of the two countries. On the basis of the principles of sustainable development, the criteria for direct comparison are singled out. Using the obtained results, the author makes a number of recommendations on improving the system of state management of the fishing industry.
