At the end of 2015 the citizens of Argentina elected their new president Mauricio Macri whose main policy objective is to improve investment environment. Now when the international market seems to be interested in investing in the energy sector of Argentina, the evaluation of M&A activity as a potential energy security improvement factor may be considered as a worthwhile pursuit. The problem of energy security in Argentina is mostly connected to the insufficient electricity generation and subsequent increase in the amount of natural gas imports.
