Decarbonization of the German Energy Sector after Signing the Paris Agreement

The research studies the energy and climate policy of Germany and analyzes the ongoing decarbonization of the German energy sector in the context of the Paris agreement. The author focuses on the development of international climate cooperation, components of decarbonization and the participation of Germany in the international agreements at regional and global levels. The current trends in renewable energy and energy efficiency in the world energy mix are examined, and the problems of the German energy transition are analyzed. The author assessess the contribution of the Paris agreement and its mechanisms to Germany achieving the decarbonization targets.
