Dairy production is one of the priority industries in terms of ensuring the food security. Thus, it is crucially important to assure operational stability and to bolster sustainable development of national dairy industries. However, due to continuous processes of economic integration and developing trade relations between countries, national producers often run into a difficulty, facing tough competition and various trade barriers and limitations. Consequently, the primary task of governments is to protect national producers by means of using the instruments of trade policy. This study aims at estimating the influence of the implementation of these particular instruments on the current state and development prospects of the dairy industry in Russia. The method of the research combines features of both quantitative test and qualitative analysis. Therefore, time-series analysis and comparative analysis of various data sources will be used to establish the causal relationship between the observed factors. These findings may contribute to the following research in the field of evaluating the trade policy influence on the development of certain industries.
