Any commercial bank realizes that because of the unstable internal economic environment, it is necessary to timely eliminate errors in activity and to correctly allocate financial resources for successful development in its business. For this purpose, the creation of special units, internal audit services, which are engaged in finding obstacles to the development of the bank's activity and providing an assessment of the bank's activity as a whole, is considered relevant for commercial banks. In the Bachelor`s thesis, modern domestic and foreign methods of conducting internal audit in a commercial bank were analyzed, as a result it became clear that internal audit in Russian banks is only at the stage of formation. The Bachelor`s paper studied modern Russian and foreign methods of assessing the effectiveness of the bank. It was revealed that foreign methods are not applicable to Russian banks; the advantages and disadvantages of the methods examined were also revealed. Based on the conclusions made on the methods of conducting the audit and the methods of assessing the bank's activities, an internal audit algorithm was developed to assess the effectiveness of the bank's activities. This algorithm was applied to one of the Russian banks. Thus, by fulfilling the tasks set of the analysis of internal audit techniques and evaluating the bank's activities, the goal of the work was achieved - the development and application of such an algorithm. To solve the research problems, the regulatory framework, foreign and domestic literature were widely used. The thesis structure is determined by the goals and objectives of the study. The work is represented by an introduction; three chapters, two theoretical and one practical; conclusion; a list of used sources and literature; 1 application. There are 11 tables in the work.
