The research is devoted to study the influence of the urban environment on the efficiency of Russian enterprises operating in different industries in 2010-2015. The study examined hypotheses about the impact of the size of urban settlements on the performance of the company, the impact of finding the city in the metropolitan area, the quality of the urban infrastructure in the roads and the influence of the characteristics of urban settlements to the enterprise in general. Estimates of the effectiveness coefficients at the parameters responsible for the characteristics of urban settlements has been significant but, nevertheless, there was not a strong influence on the technological performance of companies. Also on the basis of the calculations confirmed the theory that for businesses whose most important resource is human capital, it is important to stay in larger cities, which in the end positively affects the efficiency of the company. An analysis was conducted to control the size of the city: it was assumed that regardless of the industry in larger cities tend to have higher efficiency. This hypothesis was neither confirmed nor refuted, since, on average, groups effectiveness in smaller cities was higher, but at the same time in these areas becomes increasingly important specialization of the city that tells about the influence of industry on companies ' performance.
