Current US Military-Technical Cooperation with Countries of Latin America and Southeast Asia: Comparative Analysis

This paper considers military-technical cooperation of the USA with Latin America and South-East Asia in the period 2001 to 2016. In the work made a comprehensive analysis of the main reasons why the countries of these regions turn to US to address issues of modernization of their armies. Also, analyzed the approach of the two major US parties to the arms trade, the main directions of foreign policy and to the protection of national interests of the United States with weapons transfers to countries loyal to the United States. In addition, the paper discusses the main US competitors in the arms market, their competitive advantages and their weaknesses
