Structural Features of a Family with an Impaired Hearing Child

The dissertation researches families with a child with hearing impairment. The thesis analyses such parameters of a family structure as its internal and external boundaries and hierarchy. These parameters have been studied using two methods: a drawing of the family and a sociogram of the family. These methods were chosen based on the specifics of the social perception by people with hearing impairment. A number of differences of the family structure were identified and analysed in the course of the research of families raising teenage children and primary school children with hearing impairment.
