Lease Contract and Its Evolution in Practice of Cities of Northern Italy of the XII-XV Centuries

Evolution of lease contracts in Northern Italy in the period of XII-XV centuries is researched in the current paper. The process is examined on example of 4 contracts: emphytheusis, libellum contract, rent ad fictum and mezzadria. These contracts are thoroughly studied. Each of them was legally evaluated. Their definitions were invented; terms of contracts (subject, rights and obligations, price and period) were systematized. All these contracts were also examined together for identification and understanding of patterns of development of lease contracts in the medieval Italy. The author determines importance of the discussed topic for advancement of modern Russian law.
