Connections Between Manager's Motivation Beliefs and their Employees' Job Satisfaction and Work Engagement

This study is devoted to investigation of relationships between manager’s motivation beliefs and their subordinates’ job-satisfaction and work engagement. Previous studies were concentrated on motivation theories and their effects separately; here I provide integrative approach where I compare motivation theories and their effects in comparison to each other. To find out which motivational theories are relevant for today I would shortly go through the history of motivation and get an overview of their aspects in which they are different or the same. I explore connections between several factors: managers’ motivation beliefs and their attitude towards controlling and autonomy supportive behavior, subordinates’ attitude towards their managers, subordinates’ basic psychological needs satisfaction, work engagement and job satisfaction. After all, I provide information about connections between managers’ motivation beliefs, their views on controlling-supportive behavior, their subordinates work engagement and job satisfaction. A factor, that show the way subordinates perceive their manager was taken as a mediator.
