Cultural Studies
(Bachelor’s programme)
2017
The object of my research is the optics of sexuality as a way of artistic expression (medium) in two movies: "The Damned" (1969) by Luchino Visconti and "Night Porter" (1974) by Liliana Cavani. The subject is the process of constructing such optics in the two films taken under consideration. Together with the introduction to the historical and cultural context of the emergence of two films, the narrative structure of films and how it works with optics of sexuality, Nazi exploitation, more assimilated by popular culture, was considered but using the achievements of author's cinema with a similar theme.
