Hecke Operators on Cohomology

Arithmetic groups, being of great interest by themselves, arise in many fields of mathematical studies. In this work, the cohomology groups of SL_2(Z) are considered, and some methods to compute such groups are explained. The computation may provide many applications in number theory.
