Delta-matroids, Embedded Graphs, and Knot Invariants

Student: Sokolova Ekaterina

Educational Programme: Mathematics (Bachelor)

Year of Graduation: 2017

The work is devoted to investigate a connection between chord diagrams, graphs, ribbon graphs and delta-matroids. Some basic properties and concepts, that are analogous for all four structures, are studied here and it is shown how a relationship between these objects can be described in terms of basic properties. We discuss how some invariants of these structures can be expressed in terms of these basic properties.
