This work provides the evidence that agricultural exports value from Russia increased with its WTO accession. This membership resulted in greater access to the world market. However, the positive impact of the WTO accession was found to be significant, but not the most important one. It was discovered that agricultural exports from Russia are mainly determined by the value of total imports (from the whole world) of a trading partner and by country-specific characteristics (such as political or climate conditions). Russia should implement agricultural reforms and distribute domestic support properly to gain all the possible benefits from WTO accession in the long-term period.
